Patience in SEO and Site Building

Patience is your site building and SEO endeavors are huge. Many people expect instant results. They create a site and think their content is great. Therefore, obviously, Google should send you lots of traffic within weeks. That is not how it works and if you shoot for that, you are setting yourself up for likely failure.

Patience in SEO and Site Building

First of all, growing too fast may throw up a red flag with Google. Some sites legitimately make huge growth jumps, but they may still ban it without notification. Therefore, you should not be too concerned about growing really fast anyway.

If you are just getting started building websites, it can be hard to be patient. Try not to check your site stats daily or multiple times daily. I know, it is hard, but ultimately, it is wasteful. I still have trouble with this sometimes if I’ve got a new, exciting site. Checking it once a month is sufficient. It will also help you keep your patience in check.

If you’ve done your initial keyword research properly, but aren’t seeing results, don’t shut the site down! Just stop working on it and let it sit. There have been multiple sites where there was a serious lull in traffic and I almost shut them down. I’m glad I didn’t. (I have shut down sites, but only because I discovered a mistake in my original assumptions — not enough traffic, lower than expected conversions, etc.) I came back later to them and worked on them more and they were easier to rank for because they were older.

The age of your site really makes a difference to Google, so being an older site only works in your favor in the long run. Many sites don’t last long and Google knows this, so just by sticking around and still updating your site (it doesn’t even have to be frequently), you will find favor in Google.

Having a long-term plan for your site helps. I don’t mean the plan of, “make a ton of money.” I mean a well-laid-out site structure plan for what pages you will make and what keywords you will focus on. Set yourself a goal for when to complete a certain number of pages. If you build unique, quality content and then get links as your site ages, you will rise in the rankings.

Let us help you with the links and planning parts of the equation. We can’t help with building the content part, but we can help you with the rest. Almost everyone sees results from the link building within 3 months with our link building plans, but sometimes it can take 2-3 months to see significant jumps in the rankings — especially if your site is relatively young.
