Don’t Underestimate Google When Building Backlinks

When building links, don’t underestimate Google. Many people think that it is quite easy to trick mother Google into thinking they have a ton of high-quality backlinks. It is not easy and many people get punished for trying. Think about it — Google is worth about $170 billion and most of its earnings come from searches! Do you think an entity worth $170 billion is going to be easy to trick out of its main product?

Don’t Underestimate Google When Building Backlinks

What can a link builder do to make sure that Google doesn’t think they are trying to game them? Build backlinks in the most natural way possible. Google looks for a natural link-building profile. That way they can give the best product to their customers — search engine searchers. If someone has all their links with the same anchor text, they are going to notice and punish that website or maybe just act as if all those links don’t exist. Likewise, if all of someone’s links are the same type or are mostly from known spammy websites, then the result will be the same. So, what you need to do is vary your link type, the anchor text, the URL on your website, and the domain the links come from. Easier said than done.

What many link builders do is build one or two types of backlinks and stick with building those links because they appear to work at first. However, this will eventually start to look more and more unnatural to Google. It is critical to get different types of backlinks in your backlink profile. For example, one way to build backlinks is to make quality comments on blogs with a decent Page Rank. If you start commenting like crazy on blogs that let you put your URL in your comment, your rankings will start to go up. If you continue commenting and make that your only type backlink, many, if not all, of those links, will likely stop being counted. However, if you build blog comments, profiles, article submissions, directory submissions, and social media backlinks all at once that will look far more natural.

Another common activity that a link builder does is to create all the links with the same anchor text. For example, let's say you want to go up the search engine results for “green widgets.” Therefore, when doing your link building, you make your anchor text all “green widgets.” Great! You start moving up the search engine rankings for “green widgets!” The longer you do this, however, the more unnatural your link profile will look. Eventually, you will get spanked by Mother Google. The solution is to have a significant portion of your anchor texts be “widgets,” “widget accessories,” just your URL, and anything else related to your website. You still want to rank well for “green widgets,” so you can set most of the anchor texts to that, but not nearly all of them.

Many people actually believe those ads I’ve seen where they give your 1,000 links for $10 or something. I’ve even seen 10,000 backlinks for $5! At the very best, Google will ignore those links and you’ve just thrown $5 or $10 down the drain. This is what you hope for! Their other course of action is to punish you by either dropping you out of their index completely or giving you a serious Page Rank hit. Don’t buy those links. Never believe that someone can give you 1,000 links that will help you for $10.

Even if you buy from someone who gives you high-quality links, they have to know how to make them look natural enough to not make Google suspicious. They must vary the anchor text. They must not build them all at once. They must be able to give you multiple types of links. They must not all be nofollow links. That is why I suggest you buy backlinks from us. I’m biased of course.

With our monthly plans,, my team, and you are all in it together. If you don’t see rankings increase and subsequently an increase in your $$ earned, then you will not stick around! Therefore, our earnings drop. If you notice your rankings increase as I strongly believe will happen (as long as you’re not trying to beat Microsoft for the keyword “Microsoft” or something equally crazy), you will continue to stay around or even move to a higher package. Therefore, both your earnings and our earnings go up! So, we have a strong incentive to see you succeed and not be flagged by Google as being naughty.
